Humanity, Integrity, Personal Responsibility, Sacrifice#
Hello America, I am Dan Van Dusen, and I am hoping to make a difference, more than just one single vote can make. Making a difference is what we were purposed for. Making that difference a global positive is our luxury of choice.
Know that some little part of all the words you will hear or read will initiate the gut reaction of anger. Please understand that I am primarily talking about ideas, and ideas can not, by themselves, bring any personal or social consequence to you. It is the implementation of ideas that becomes positive or detrimental.
In my view the last time this country could have been considered great was the year it’s core tenants were established, that was 1776. It has been a downward spiral since then, with occasional epiphanies of conscious along the way. These including the abolition of slavery, and the equal distribution of the vote, to include all races and gender, and… oh the equal rights amendment, (but that last one has been so diluted in it’s implementation, that the idea has been lost to history.) I do not see gender and racial equality in our society as it’s concept warrants.
This downward spiral has been driven by powerful entities serving their own best interests, usually disregarding one or more of the four ideas at the top of this page. That disregard was then propagated down through the entities that create the power, and then maintain that power where it is, and that is you.
With all that said, I am proposing campaigning for the Presidential election of 2028. Do I expect to win? Not realistically, but winning here has multiple meanings, and is completely out of my control. My experience has taught me that having expectations in a situation you don’t completely control is counter productive.
Being the President is like being the captain of a ship, you can be a Captain Cook or you can be a Captain Bligh. Your course, speed, and ultimate destination is achieved by the crew, but determined by your morality and leadership. In my years of political awareness I have seen this crew tolerate some pretty amoral leadership and I believe it’s time the power get back to it’s source and that is us, the most common entity.
