Dan Van Dusen for President

Welcome
#

Hello, I am Dan Van Dusen, a concerned citizen with more than 400 years of fraternal lineage in America. I have been a naval nuclear sailor, A corporate owner and executive and a homeless veteran. I was born in Redondo Beach, Ca. We moved to Washington state when I was 11. I have spent living time in at least 12 other states. I have also spent time in at least 10 different countries. I feel that this makes me considerably qualified to empathize with very diverse people both of personal and cultural backgrounds.

My family was a scouting family, We have a family portrait in which my father is a scout leader, mom is a den mother, older sister is a girl scout, I am a cub scout and, lil sis is a brownie. I went to high school at Bethel Sr. high in Spanaway, WA. I joined the navy in the nuclear power program thinking I would work at the Kalama power plant but it was closed when I got out so I became a carpenter. I eventually started my own cabinet company and did quite well, until there was a fire (caused by the fire dept?). From there I went on to being a general contractor. I have been a school bus driver, I have been involved in therapeutic foster care, I am currently a state certified peer counselor in WA. I am fairly civic minded and I have been a B.P.O.E member.

It seems our current two party system, That is now 160 years old has descended into a conflict of policies. Neither party is concerned about constitutional correctness or the population at large and more focused on making sure their party stays in charge. I have no interest in being wealthy, I don’t play golf and I believe it is time for a reset. The country needs a leader without delusions of grandeur and with the humility to admit they are not some panacea for our current situation. We also need someone willing to implement and enforce good boundaries on the self serving culture and influence pedaling that is solidifying the rift between the withs and the withouts.
